Hello and thank you for stopping by! This blog is intended to portray various aspects of the Aromanian culture from past and present times: history, way of live, memories and traditions. The blog’s authors form the collective behind Project Avdhela, the Library of Aromanian culture. Avdhela Project, the Library of Aromanian Culture (www.proiectavdhela.ro) is a non-profit project launched in november 2009, dealing with the research, preservation and promotion of the Aromanian culture. The project primarly adresses Aromanians from Romania and the Balkans, with intention to provide means for preserving the Aromanian language, knowledge of the origins, historical, social, spiritual development. The project aims to identify, edit and provide the scientific and artistic works of Aromanian culture and heritage- cultural goods which become available to researchers and all those interested, free of charge. Among these, there are over 80 digitized studies in areas of linguistics, ethnology, history and several printed text and audio materials. The project includes a series of activities such as: filed researches on themes of identity and oral history, projects to encourage young people to practice the language, editing audio and video CDs, development of sound archives and video libraries of the Aromanian culture, a fund consisted of ethnographic photography, event-organising and so on.-
